Hurricane Arthur blew through the Hatteras Island area pretty quickly on Friday morning, July 4th. All said and done, there was very little damage and the majority of the island was basically unaffected. Avon and south experienced some minor sound side flooding, and only a few buildings were damaged (mostly lost shingles off the roof, nothing major). Salvo, Waves, and Rodanthe were hit a bit harder with more water damage, but still nothing compared to the major hurricanes of the past few years.
As of Saturday July 5th, the road has been reopened to the public and we’re back up and running at full steam, so come on down and enjoy some Summer Beach Time! The water’s warm, the wind forecast is looking solid, and we’re booking up with SUP tours and Windsurfing lessons, so give us a call and get your name on the list!
Looking forward to seeing you all soon! 🙂
