Wind-NC offers a complete program of windsurfing lessons, focusing on safety, technique, and HAVING FUN! Reservations are required. Please feel free to use the reservation form at the bottom of this page, or contact us by phone or email. 2012 program and rates follow below:
“First-Timer” Windsurfing Lessons: Participants will learn how to rig their gear, and basic sail and board handling skills like uphauling, sailing to a fixed point (and returning home), and tacking. All “First-Timer” windsurfing lessons include gear rental during the scheduled lesson time. Available as a private (2 hours, $80) or group lesson (max 5 students, ~2.5 hours, $60 pp).
“The Refresher Course”: Took a lesson last summer and just need a quick refresher? This one hour long, land based lesson is designed just for you. You’ll relearn how to rig your gear, and the basic sail and board handling skills taught in the “First-Timer” lesson. Students must rent or provide their own gear during “The Refresher.” $40 total, Private or Group!
“Day 2″ Windsurfing Lessons: Participants should be able to perform any skill learned in the “First-Timer” lesson. Take your sailing up a notch and perfect your stance and steering techniques, and learn some basic light wind freestyle skills, too! This is a “building block” lesson that helps prepare you for the exciting thrills of highwind windsurfing! Available as a private (2 hours, $80) or group lesson (max 5 people, 2 hours, $40 pp). Students must rent or provide their own gear.
High Wind Lessons: Private only, $40/hour. Student must rent or provide their own gear. Most lesson subjects require approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to cover technique discussion and water practice. We’ll push you along as fast as you can progress:

-Harness
-Footstraps
-Speed With Control
-Short Board Tacks
-Carve Jibes
-Carving Freestyle (duck jibes, donkey jibes, hoss tacks, duck tacks, 360s, etc)
-Chop Hops
-Aerial Freestyle (loops, vulcans, etc)
-Wavesailing (a massive list of small topics)

A $60 Lesson Block can be redeemed for one person in a group beginner lesson or 1.5 hours of private instruction. CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO REDEEM A LESSON VOUCHER!!! We’ll email you your voucher within 24 hours of purchase.
Cancellation Policy:
- Your receipt is required for any refund.
- In the event of foul weather, we can reschedule your lesson or give you a full refund.
- You can cancel your reservation for a full refund up until 3 days prior to your scheduled lesson time.
- You can cancel your reservation within 3 days of your scheduled time for a 50% refund. If we’re able to schedule someone else during your time, we’ll issue you a full refund.
