October is generally the second or third busiest month of the year at the shop. I’ve been pulling some massive hours in there to try to make it all happen. It’s kind of a bummer because the days are getting shorter, and as we know, all work and no play makes Andy a dull boy. Enter the saving grace:
October’s Full Moon rises over the Avon Pier
We’ve been super lucky to have crystal-clear skies and a giant, vividly bright moon for the last 4 or 5 nights straight. Daytime fun has been readily available at all hours of the night and my problem has been solved!
Ken, Stuart, Nut and I started the fun with a light-wind freestyle sesh that extended well past sunset into an all night windsurfing ninja extravaganza. Sailing silently through the canals of Avon, under the cloak of darkness and camouflaged in black wetsuits, four grown men defied logic and practiced helitacks until even the wind was confused as to which way it came from. In the end, no one was lost to the sea, although Nut did disappear for about an hour. When asked where he went, he replied “I don’t know. It’s dark out.”
Here are some random pictures from the last few days:

It looks like we’re going to have a crazy windy week. C’mon down and join us for some fall windsurfing fun! Hope to see ya out there, day or night!
PS: I have a new Absolute Favorite stand up paddleboard of all time. It generates speed and glides like a longboard but slices and dices the waves like my 6?2? squash tail prone board. Add 28 inches of width and a paddle, and you can’t fall off the darn thing, making the most radical bottom and top turn combination easily accessible. It’s the Hokua 8?10? and I’m in love:
Swing on by the shop and check it out!
